pothkan pisze:Pytanie dotyczące europejskich państewek "przed-zjednoczeniowych": wiadomo, że własne floty posiadały w Niemczech, Prusy i Szlezwik-Holsztyn (w 1848 włączony do Danii), we Włoszech natomiast Sardynia-Piemont, Toskania, Państwo Kościelne i Królestwo Obojga Sycylii.

Wyspy Jonskie mialy 2 parowce . Mam gdzies ich dane :-)

jesli o chodzi o inne to raczej nie mialy flot wojennych.

AvM
Te jonskie parowce, to w zasadzie statki handlowe, zarejestrowane w Londynie, potem w Korfu.

Jednak C.R. Kiedy jednak w Wielkiej Brytanii zapanował głód (w czasie wojen z rewolucyjną Francją), pozwolono załadować (głównie ryżem) kilkanaście żaglowców i wyprawić je do Anglii. Wśród nich rejsy takie odbył w 1799 i 1801 właśnie ów statek „Asia” z Bombaju.

Pozdrawiam, Krzysztof Gerlach

Powrócę do floty egipskiej.
Poproszę o jakieś informacje o 60 działowych okrętach zbudowanych w stoczniach zagranicznych dla floty Egiptu: Bahireh (1827, Marsylia), Raschid/Rashid (1827, Wenecja) i Jefferieh (1828, Livorno).

Informację, że "JUŻ JEST".
Szerszą niż zwyczajowa 'zajawkę' treści - np. kilkanaście przykładowych stron.
Zacytowany wstęp i ewentualne teksty z obwoluty.
Itp.

While Whitelaw & Company put another ship in service to meet the area's needs, he commissioned the building of the steamer Thomas A. Whitelaw. Named after his son, the ship was built during the summer of 1878 in San Francisco. Although he had the Eel River trade in mind , Whitelaw designed in flexibility for other uses . Constructed at a cost of $40,000 she was a "staunch vessel" , a little large for the Eel River trade, and had 2 decks with accomodation for 26 first class passengers. The ship was 136 feet long , 26 feet wide with a depth of just over 13 feet and could carry 400 tons.

The industries of San Francisco: her rank, resources, advantages, trade, commerce & manufactures ; conditions of the past, present and future, representative industrial institutions, historical, descriptive, and statistical

THE FULTON IRON WORKS.

Hinkley, Spiers & Hayes, Proprietors, corner Fremont, Howard and Beale Streets.

The Fulton Iron Works, situated at the corner of Fremont, Howard and Beale Streets,
were first established by D. B. Hinkley in the year 1855. The present proprietors of the establishment are D. B. Hinkley, James Spiers, and D. E. Hayes. Employment is given to from 250 to 300 persons, the pay-roll averaging from four to five thousand dollars weekly. The
foundry, boiler and machine shops, are extensive and complete in every detail. One fifty horse-power engine, and four others varying from ten to twenty horse-power, serve to drive the various tools. In the cupola furnaces thirty tons of iron can be melted in a day, while the large
lathe, having a swing of some twenty feet, and a ponderous steam hammer that strikes a blow with a weight of eleven tons, are engineering tools equal to any in this city. Every description of mining machinery, marine and stationary engines, are manufactured. The Fulton Works
make a specialty of the manufacture of Frue's concentrators, for mines, and are also agents for the celebrated IJeane pump. The capital invested in the concern is $250,000, while the aver age annual business amounts to nearly a million dollars. It may be noted that these works
built the engines for the steamers State of Sonora, C. A. Bishop, Thomas A. Wlithelaw, and the Daisy Whitelaw, while the excellence of the work in the building of quartz mills has received substantial patronage from many men. The trade of the concern is not confined to California
alone, but embraces Mexico, British Columbia, the Sandwich Islands, and Australia. No effort is spared, and skill and experience are brought to bear to render successful the termination of any enterprise entrusted to the firm. Under the supervision of Mr. Spiers the designing and
drafting rooms may be found, while the general management of the business is assumed by Messrs. Hinkley and Hayes. A specialty with this house is the manufacture of the Corliss engines.
