Sprawdzilem w ksiazce o BI,
ani slowa ze URLANA i UMBRIA
byly statkami standardowymi (zbudowane w 1946r),
wrecz odwotnie byly kopiamii serii I.
Moze stocznia uzyla dla Wlochow jakis podkladek
EMPIRE.

Znalazlem w mojej starej poczcie:
1) Pytanko (moje)
The Dutch liner pair:
RYNDAM and MAASDAM built in 1950s by
Wilton-Fijenoord received turbines
completed in 1945 by General Electric Co, Eire.
2) Odpowiedz (Urbain UREEL)
in the book "125 JAAR HOLLAND AMERIKA LIJN" by G.J.DE BOER (publ.DE ALK) I
read on page 95.:
" The Dutch government in London (during the war) had acquired at General
Electric just before the war ended, 6 turbines in order to install them into
newbuildings as they expected a shortage of propulsion plants once the war
ended". After the war the these engines were designated to the VNS for the
AMERSKERK, the SMN for the BILLITON, the KRL and her AMPENAN and the HAL for
the DIEMERDIJK. THe two remaining were installed into the MAASDIJK and
RIJNDAM which were intended as cargoships as well but the plans were changed
during construction.
