(21.12.1905) "Adjutant" AG Deutsche 0st Afrika Linie, Hamburg (DEU). August 1914 in Beira, 9.10.1914 auf der Fahrt nach Deutsch 0st Afrika durch den englischen Kreuzer HMS "Dartmouth" 1,5 Meilen vor der Küste von Mocambique aufgebracht. Als Hilfsschiff i. D. gestellt, 6.2.1915 auf der Fahrt flußaubwärts des Rufidji durch deutsche Landgeschütze beschossen und nach Strandung erobert. Wird noch vom englischen Kreuzer HMS "Hyacinth" beschossen, später von den Deutschen geborgen und vom Kreuzer SMS "Königsberg" zum Hilfskriegsschiff ausgerüstet. 11.4.1915 i. D. 19.2.1916 vom Rufidji nach Daressalam, hier auseinandergenommen und per Bahn zum Tanganyikasee gebracht. 15.7.1916 nach Landung belgischer Truppen in Kigoma beim Rückzug der deutschen Truppen auf der Slipanlage in Brand gesetzt.

Built in 1902 in the Schiffswerft J&S shipyards of Hamburg, was the “Kadett” German merchant ship that I found an outbreak in Mozambique when In 1916, it was requested by the Government Portuguese and received The name “Pebane.” This name of “Pebane” reminds us to the Mozambican village of the same name, north of the city of Quelimane, bathed by the Indian Ocean and that was an important port of call for the Trade Navy. Initially used as a transport of the Colonial Navy He served as a hydrographic ship from 1923 to 1925.
It had the following characteristics:
Length: 35m
Mouth: 6,96
Quiet maximum: 10
Speed: 7 kts
It had a two-cylinder “Compound” machine with a power of 380 horsepower. In 1921, in order to be adapted in the hydrographic service, had manufactures in Durban and received special equipment that included winch and Turkish fishing, small dragas, a plumb for large depths and various measuring devices of temperature, pressure and humidity. It was also adapted a small compartment to serve of laboratory. The garrison It was 37 men (1 officer, 1 assistant biologist, 4 sergeants 31 squares, of which 28 indigenous people).
The works were, mostly, carried out in the bay of Lourenço Marques and near the coast between the bar of the Limpopo and the Ponta do Ouro, inside the low Danae and in some points of the north coast with emphasis on Mozambique and the banks of Bazaruto. Probes were usually carried out with certain intervals and distances from the coast, recognition of the fund comprising the observation and registration of the nature, from which samples were preserved and the obtaining of the temperature of the water to the surface and the bottom. In rock bottoms or coral were used the dredges for the collection of samples. By trawl was collected fish and plankton which, subsequently, were treated at the museum in Lourenço Marques.
In 1930 he was shot down to the staff of the Colonial Navy “Pebane” steam.
