Polskie plany rozbudowy floty - po angielsku

Post autor: SmokEustachy »

Noo to moze ja nieoficjalnie zainauguruje angielski box, cos takiego wysmazylem wczoraj:

I. Poland had a lot of problems with English view of Middle-Europe political system.

1. Lloyd George was stupid and he didn't distinguish Poland's Galicia and Spain's.
2. Germany problem:
a: England thought that Germany would be counterweight against France economic, political, military domination in Europe, so counteracted G excessive weakness --> "attack" Polish border, plebiscite in Silesia etc.,
b: German Navy was kicked from oceans and rivalry with RN, but would had /in England opinion/ 1 place in Baltic sea /10 000 t. battleships weren't dangerous for RN, but strong against Baltic Country's Navy's/ ,
c: Neutralization Gdansk,
d: Old German ships to Poland --> It was very irritating.
3. RN Admiralty idea - neutralization Baltic,
4. No credits for Polish Navy
5. So we hadn't had any port and had coast only 150 km,
6. And only 6 small torpedo boat without guns and torpedoes for Poland, they stationed in "Free City Gdansk"

Compare USA politics after WWII. A lot of ships transferred for a lot of country's. LC for South Americans for example.

II. Polish Navy plans.

1. Poland Delegation Wersal's intervention:
1-2 light cruiser /s/
2 destroyers

2. VII 1919 y. official PMW plan:

1. light cruiser - 3000 t
4 destroyers - 800 t
2 submarines - 500, 200 t
6 mine ships - 100 t

with cooperation /credits/ with Admiralty. But RN refused because neutralization Baltic plan.

3. 1920 y. official PMW plan.

Until 1929:
2 battleships
6 cruisers
28 destroyers
45 submarines
28 mine ships
54 torpedo cutter /?/

On Rivers:

4 big monitors
20 small monitors
25 gunned motor boats

Planes:
64 hydroplanes

This plan was completely unreal, because economic crisis.

3. IX 1920 official PMW plan /next/:

Until 1923:
1 light cruiser - 5000 t,
4 destroyers: 1500-2000 t,
2 submarines - 560 t

With RN cooperation - consent in V 1920.
But Foreign Office objection in IX 1920.

4. 1924 - Small Program - official:

Until 1936:
2 cruisers,
6 destroyers,
12 torpedo boats,
12 submarines

reduced in 1925:

9 submarines built in France - 600-900 t.

It was first plan partial realized - 3 submarines "Wilk" class was built and 2 destroyers "Wicher" class too.
"D'Entrecasteaux" was purchased.

5. 1931 - Disarmament Negotiation /Geneva/ - Poland declare fleet 150 000 t.
/in reaction for British stopping small fleets plan/

Since this declaration in Poland risen a lot of impossible fleet plans.

6. Kadm. Swirski /PMW commander/ plan:

a: 208 000 t fleet /!!!!!/
4 battleships /25 000 t/
4 light cruisers
12 destroyers
36 submarines
=137 400 t

Convoy escort feet:
4 light cruisers
22 destroyers
=71 000 t

7. "Near official" J. Ginsbert plan:

3 battleships
carrier
1 cruiser
4 "krzyzowiec" - something between destroyer and l. cruiser
13 destroyers
18 submarines

8. Ginsbert modernized plan:

3 battleships
1 cruiser /with hydro-planes/ - 6000 t, 8x 152, 8x 102, 12 hydro-planes, 35 knots,
12 destroyers
21 submarines
2. mine layers

9. KMW official plan - 1936:

until 1942:
6 destroyers
8 submarines
mine layer

10. A. Potyrala semi-official plan - 1936:

2 battleships: 25 000 t,
2 heavy cruisers - 10 000 t, 9x 203, 9x 120, 8 TT 533, 120 000 KM, 30+ knots, belt 200 mm,
9 destroyers,
9 torpedo boats,
18 submarines,

11. ORP "Kuna" - We planned purchase submarine built in Spain,

That's quite daring statement, dear Dragon. I bet the Britons would argue. That's simply a politican's virtue only to know the things he needs to know to survive (as a politician).

Remember this quotation?

"Behold, my son, with how little wisdom the world is governed"

"D'Entrecasteaux" ?? Pls...
