Yesterday there was a USN oiler or similar with AIS track south of Crete,
but I cannot recall the name.
Greece has sent frigate PSARA today from Piraeus
Germany reported rerouted two frigates and a support ship - one Bremen-class
frigate and Berlin-class supply ship arrived Malta
French frigate TOURVILLE arrived Malta yesterday

Following is my current tally of civilian and other ships being used in
evacuation. Updates and corrections welcome.

Also reports China used "two cargo ships and several ferryboats operated by
Chinese companies that happened to be in nearby waters".
China reports chartered two further ship standing by in Italy and Greece

Ponoć jeden czy dwa libijskie okręty zbiegły (lub próbują) na Maltę.

Biorąc pod uwagę, że jakieś 2/3 wybrzeża (w tym Benghazi i Tobruk) jest pod kontrolą powstańców, zapewne część MW opowiedziała się po stronie rewolucji.

MARIA DOLORES has sailed Valletta for Tripoli; SAN GWANN following
(correction: first voyage of SAN GWANN apparently chartered by construction
company Schlumberger, not US Government).

HMS CUMBERLAND arrived Valletta, and due to sail for Tripoli
CRUISE ROMA arrived Valletta from Benghazi - will remain as transit hotel
for Chinese

EL. VENIZELOS arrived Heraklion last night with Chinese
HELLENIC SPIRIT and OLYMPIC CHAMPION due to sail Benghazi today

Italy evacuating from Misurata with naval ships FRANCESCO MIMBELLI (D561)
and SAN GIORGIO (L9892) but hampered by weather

ISKENDERUN and another (ANKARA?) sailed Benghazi this morning for Marmaris.
SAMSUN now sailed Kissamos Bay, Crete (where sheltering) for Libya.

Russian chartered Montenegro ferry SVETI STEFAN II (probably, though could
be SVETI STEFAN) sailed Bar via Bari for Ras Lanuf

As noted, Dutch frigate TROMP is off Libyan coast to assist evacuation but
no report of port call.

Strangely enough is not the Dutch LCF Hr.Ms. Tromp mentioned which was ordered by the Dutch government to returned with all speed from her Somilia anti pirate mission. She had just passed the Suez channel and turned immediately and was expected to arrive Friday but all ready arrived in the end of the morning of Thursday (I believed the order came on Monday or Tuesday). In the meantime the Dutch government had allready sent a airplane. However the Tromps was ordered to aid the evacuation by air or if this was not possible to evacuatue people by sea if necessary with her own boats

The PLA Navy has just dispatched Xuzhou, a Type 054 Jiangkai-II class missile frigate, from the ongoing seventh PLAN anti-piracy task force deployment off Somalia to steam to Libyan coast to provide support and protection for the ongoing evacuation mission there.

India is sending three Naval ships to evacuate its citizens from Libya.(...) Government sources say two destroyers and INS Jalashawa (USS Trenton) will be dispatched from Mumbai in the next few hours. They will take 12 days to reach Libya. In the meantime, the government has hired a private cruise ship that was already in the region.

Co do San Marco, to właściwie taka jego rola od momentu zbudowania. Dziś już nieistniejące ministerstwo obrony cywilnej (teraz to bodaj departament) wyłożyło sporą sumę na budowę tego okrętu w zamian za przygotowanie do dużych operacji ewakuacyjnych. W efekcie okręt ma bardziej rozbudowaną cześć medyczną i urządzenia odsalające o wydajności 210 t/dobę zamiast 90 t/dobę jak na jego bliźniaku.

NISSOS RODOS east of Crete, from Benghazi, probably for Piraeus

MARIA DOLORES and SAN GWANN have stayed longer at Tripoli to allow more to board for Malta.

HMS CUMBERLAND sailedfrom Valletta, after all, for Benghazi.
HMS YORK arrived Malta from Gibraltar.

Italian frigate FENICE is at Valletta.
The three German warships also still at Malta

India's SCOTIA PRINCE due in Libya tomorrow, to ship to Alexandria.

Syrian cargo vessel SOURIA interrupted Med voyage to call at Benghazi and
sailed today with Syrians for Lattakia; EUROPA PALACE has been chartered
from Greece and believed to have left Igoumenitsa for Benghazi. Also an
untraced vessel "AL-ASSAD" heading for Libya.

Tunisian ferry HABIB sailed Benghazi this evening to ferry Tunisians home.

Czyżby okręt szkolny o tej nazwie, zbudowany w Stoczni Północnej?

I was intrigued to see the ferry Scotia Prince listed as one of the
evacuation vessels. I wondered if this was the long-serving ferry from
Yarmouth, Nova Scotia to Maine and indeed it is:

Apparently the Scotia Prince is working in the Med these days, but
amusingly still under her old touristy Nova Scotia name.

Indeed is the same vessel. Scotia Prince is chartered by the Indian Government for the evacuation.

HMS CUMBERLAND sailed from Benghazi for Malta

MARIA DOLORES and SAN GWANN sailed today from Tripoli for Malta where due
tonight - reported that they will return to Tripoli for third rescue trip.

Fast ferries ALRIYADH and ALKAHERA arrived Alexandria from Red Sea -
possibly for coastal shuttle with Benghazi - they are sisters of ORHAN/OZMAN
GAZI-1.

Algerian ferry TASSILI II southwest of Malta en route Benghazi.

HELLENIC SPIRIT and OLYMPIC CHAMPION departed Heraklion for Libya but appear
heading for Tripoli this time.
Second Chinese-chartered ship due at Valletta from Benghazi (identity?)

Confirm that it is SVETI STEFAN II that has arrived at Ras Lanuf

Italian ferry SNAV TOSCANA has arrived Malta this morning from Tripoli (with
1800 passengers: Vietnamese, Thai, Pakistani and others).

Confirm that NISSOS RODOS which arrived Piraeus last night was the ship
chartered by Brazilian/Portuguese construction firm Queiroz Galvão.

Italian Navy SAN GIORGIO arrived Catania from Misurata 27/2 with 245
passengers.

Not clear whether Indian-chartered SCOTIA PRINCE has yet arrived in Benghazi
- some reports say departed Port Said today and will arrive tomorrow.
India reported chartered further ferry currently in Sicily.

Moroccan ferry BERKANE west of Sicily heading for Benghazi.

Lastly - it seems that container feeder MSC INDIA berthed Benghazi
yesterday, the first report I have seen of a regular shipping arrival there
- presumably considered a safe port at least for the time being.

Ale moment - to byl JEDEN MiG-23 i JEDEN nie zindentyfikowany smiglowiec bojowy - nie wydaje sie komus ze cos tu nie pasi? Albo te okrety to byly 'kajaki bojowe' ktore mozna bylo zatopic ogniem z karabinow albo ktos tu relacje przyslowiowym Phototshop'em potraktowal.

Update:
OK, teraz juz to dwa okrety plona a trzeci uszkodzony przez "Free Libyan Air Force" - cokolwiek to jest... W kazdym razie sa informacje o kolejnych uderzeniach na inne cele wiec "Free Libyan Air Force" ma na stanie chyba wiecej niz to co wczesniej wspomniane.

Komentarz do tych zdjec mowi ze sa to opuszczone okrety - ciekawe czy rebelianci maja kim je obsadzic.

Co do jednostek widocznych na zdjeciu nr 1, wg Jane's Fighting Ships 2007-2008 sa to:
- po wewnetrzej projekt 1234 Tariq Ibn Ziyad
- po zewnetrznej projekt 1159 Al Hani
Status operacyjny obu jednostek jest wysoce watpliwy

To mogły być któreś z Combattante II. Wydaje mi się, że na nie parę rakiet by starczyło... albo wręcz małe patrolowce PV30 (chorwackie).

W stanie libijskiego lotnictwa ciężko się połapać (ogólnie: wiadomo co, nie wiadomo ile), ale myślę, że kilka Mi-24 mogło się spokojnie znaleźć w rękach powstańców. Tym bardziej, że helikopter jest chyba trochę łatwiejszy do opanowania, niż myśliwiec... tzn. łatwiej o pilotów.

Co do Koni i Nanuchki na zdjęciu (dzięki za nie, Szafranie!), częściowo zgadzam się z Wojtkiem - wyglądają na odstawione. Ale z drugiej strony, zdjęcia satelitarne Benghazi z ostatnich lat (2007-2009) wskazują na to, że oba okrety były w ruchu. Stąd raczej bym obstawiał problemy kadrowe oraz strach przed wyjściem w morze (i natknięciem się na "kaddafijskie" samoloty). Myślę, że z jednej strony powstańcy dysponują poza tym jakimiś mniejszymy jednostkami (obstawiam właśnie ww. Combattante oraz wszelkie patrolowce), z drugiej - raczej obie strony niespecjalnie mają czym walczyć na morzu.
