On completion of this modernisation in September 196 7 she displaced 2,850/4,200 tons and measured 127.4 m. overall with a beam of 13.7 m. and a draught of 6.1 m. Propulsion is by means of tw o sets of Westinghouse geared steam turbines developing 70,000 s.h.p. and driving two shafts to give a top speed of 32 knots. As converted her armament consists of one 127 m.m. (5 in.) D.P. gun and tw o sets of triple Mk. 32 torpedo tubes for Mk. 46 antisubmarine torpedoes forward of the bridge, an eight-cell launcher for A.S.R.O.C. missiles aft of the second funnel and a Mk. 13 launcher for Standard missiles aft. A total of 40 missiles are stowed in a vertical ready service magazine. Each missile is 4.3 m. long, weighs 590 kg. and has a range of 25 miles. The missile fire control system includes a computer, an SPS29E air search radar on the foremast, an SPS48 height finding radar wit h its aerial on the massive lattice mainmast and one SPG51C fire control radar on the aft superstructure.
