Meteor, 16, floating-battery, in dock at Portsmouth, has had her plates parallel with her main-deck ports taken off, and the row underneath are in course of removal. So far as can be ascertained at present, this vessel is rotten fore and aft. Scarcely sound timber can be seen in her. Several of her beams and a large portion of her shelf pieces are little better than a mass dust held together by the paint.
